Hello. I am currently re-typing my Dad's novel about his experiences growing up in the Dutch East Indies and surviving WWII. He was a sailor in the Dutch Navy. He wrote a chapter about being on a ship called the 'Soemenep'. It was just before war broke out in the Pacific.
