U-151 class mine armament

The data tables in Rossler "The U-Boat" says the armament of of the U-151 class, ex cargo sub U-cruisers, didn't include mines. The data section on this site says the same, perhaps reflecting that source. But they did lay mines on their patrols off the US coast in 1918, claiming a number of victims. How did they carry and lay these mines, and of what type were they?
