<HTML>Hi!
I´m back with a new newspaper story!
The Swedish newspaper "Dagens Nyheter" reports 2003-08-01 that the Russian ww1 submarine AG 14 "Amerikanskij (G)Holland" has been found in the Baltic sea east of the Swedish Island Gotska Sandön.
It was during the search for the Swedish AF elint DC3 this may that the sub was found.
According to the article AG14 was built in 1916 in USA and its captain was Otto Essen(German name?!) and that it was on the prowl on German merchant shipping when it was lost in the summer of 1917.
End of newspaper story.
In 1952 a Swedish reconnaisance DC3 was shot down by the Soviet AF,not admitted until early 90s.
The disappearance of the plane and its 8-man crew has been a mystery and several search expeditions have been launched.
However this summer the aircraft has been found and it is going to be lifted from the sea this autumn.
Because of these circumstances the exact location is not known to the public.
Therefore I added in which area it was found since that is the location vaguely revealed to the public.
Anyway this has been a most interesting summer with several news for me as an air and sea interested amateur historian!
