Belgian ship named : ANVERS

Hello,

This (belgian) ship, blt in 1908, (ex- Elsa Menzell, ex- Ekkehard) was hailed or stopped (?) by the auxiliary merchant cruiser "Kronprinz Wilhelm" on the 10th of march 1915.
It is told that she was not sunken due to a “ subterfuge of her captain …” and could continue her journey.
Can somebody confirm this fact, or have more info and/or tell me what was the ‘subterfuge”.
Many thanks.
Freddy.
