I have some information on the Brazilian Merchant ship Taquari from Waeship International Magazine:
On 2 January 1918 a German U-boat shelled the Taquari off Newquay, Cry Wall. The ship lowered her lifeboats and 8 men died. The ship was towed into cardiff.
There is a Brazilian merchant ship Taquary 1943-grt completed in 1912 renamed Irman in 1955 and Wrecked on 15 July 1968.
I hope this is some use.
