My lucky, I found a reference to DURBAN today. The incident is mentioned in "Lloyd's War Losses" but the ship is not included in the index. DURBAN was of 765 grt, on a voyage from Santa Cruz to Copenhagen with mahogany when she was damaged by an U-boat about 90 miles off Barra Head (56 15N, 10 14W). She put into Stornaway. The only problem is the date -- Lloyd's lists it as March 1, 1917.
