Hi Michael
The captain from Ivanhoe told that the crew from Ivanhoe was good treated onboard U56. He was allowed to stay on the bridge, but was send down when the russian fired the first grenade.
From talking with the german crew he heard that they had planned to stay in the operation area until it froze. He was also told that they where running low on food and the bread was mouldy. Before they sunk Ivanhoe they therefor supplemented the food supply on U56.
