According to my information, Californian was mined and sank in 46.17N 02.10W (west Ile de Ré)what is a bit far from the Loire estuary where UC56 had received the mission to lay mines. On an other hand, if the position in which Californian sank is correct even if we consider she may have drifted, it seems to me a surprising area where depth is rather important and when it is much efficient to lay mines in narrow channels where many ships may pass through.
If anyone has UC56's KTB, it would be interesting to know the exact position in which mines were laid.
