Hello Michael,

In fact there was a limited two way communication possible. One of the prisoners was a wireless officer and he had rigged an antenne that allowed them to listen to the German naval radio (Naunen), so there was a possibility of getting signals to them.

I agree it would have been a great coup if it had suceeded, but if you assign so much resources to it ( two boats) then why not try to bring more men off?
