<HTML>Is the "angle on the bow" the same as the "relative heading" of the target?

I'm playing Silent Hunter II with manual TDC and the inputs are:

- bearing of the target from the boat
- absolute speed of the target
- distance of the target from the sub
- relative heading of the target

The manual says that you could estimate the relative heading by viewing the target from the periscope.
90 degrees if the target travels from left to right
270 degres if the target travels from right to left
0 if you see the tail of the target
180 if the target travels to you.

But this value is INDEPENDENT from the sub's heading. So it's different from the angle on the bow.

Which of the two inputs did you have to enter in a real u-boat TDC?</HTML>
