May you rest in peace for evermore.

You were a Naval Officer and a Gentleman.

Yes, a U-boat commander as you and your peers were known during the 2nd World War but that is history and you were a great part of that history and I hope you will be remembered for a very long time. Remembered with kindness, love and affection.

Now is the Hour when we must say goodbye. Soon you'll be sailing far across the sea.............

On the 6th January 2006 I will spend a moment or two in silent thought and have a drink to 'absent friends'

P.S. For those who do not know 'Now is the Hour' is a Maori song which was sung when ships sailed. It can be found on the internet. Check the version by Dame Kiri te Kanawa.
