Recently several articles have appeared about wreckage of
USS Grunion being found by sonar off Kiska island in the
Aleutians. Grunion disappeared on patrol in the Aleutians
in summer of 1942. Been mystery what happened - Japanese
modeler interviewed former Imperial officer on KANO MARU
which was attacked by submarine off Kiska on July 31.
He reports firing on surfacing submarine after KANO MARU
was torpedoed by submarine near Kiska.
