Java Arrow

Mentioned in the book reviews is 'different Battles' by Rody Johnson, where he states the American ship Java Arrow was hit by a torpedo from U 109 that did not explode. All my sources state she was hit twice by U 333 on her port side. However in Browning's book on US merchant ship losses, for the Java Arrow say the navy relate to a second toepedo hit on the starboard side, to which the owners and Coast Guard reply the second hit the port side. Assuming there was evidence of a torpedo hit on the starboard side, is there any other evidence of U 109 carrying out this alleged attack on the JA and hitting the starboard side. ??
