U-862 TIMM, NEW Zealand 1945.

Although i have read many times about Timm's patrol off North Island, Cape Regina, and the east coast of New Zealand, i was unaware that on January 15th 1945 he entered the shallows of Gisborne harbour.There he observed traffic, and pedestrians, going about their business.Similar to Topp's foray into New York harbour in U-552 earlier in the war.
