The military channel ran an hour program on the "Top Tem Uboats" in which the type 7 took Ist place.This was based on fear factor,Innovation,performance,length of service among others. I am surprised that the ignored the types 21 and 23 which are pionners of the modern uboat. Of interest also is the U>S>Navy and their search for the "Alligator" which pioneered mpderm uboats. It was lost during a storm while being towed. There are diagrms posted on the web.
