U Boat Compass ? Help

I have been given a compass that was said to be taken from a German uboat that had been scraped at the port of Hull after World WarII, The compass is about 9 cm in diameter, in MILS 0-64,about 2 cm in Depth, on the face it has the wording "EMIL BUSH,RATHENOW, 1483 VIII.18. underneath the compass are what could have been brackets to make this a non portable fixture. Can anyone identify this object please.
