Half Moon Cay??

In the earlier thread "U-boat scuttling in the Caribbean", I inserted a brief post in which I recounted hearing numerous stories about Half Moon Cay during the time I spent in Belize, back in the late 70's.

The stories were all consistent; …..They maintained that Half Moon Cay had been used as a supply drop for U-Boats during the Second World War.

This made some tactical sense, as Half Moon Cay was quite secluded, (at least in the pre-tourist days) and featured deep water within a mile of shore in three directions.

I was never able to find out anything concrete about these tales; …..but when I chanced across this site, it occurred to me that someone here should know if there were any official records of any such operations.
