U-boat on a sandbank

Twenty yeas ago i heard a story from a old german uboat man,it go`s like this.

" Under diving they got some serious valve problems and they begin to take inn water,more and more.After a long strugel they got to the surface, but the leaking still going on. the only solution at that moment was to run the uboat in to a sandbank.They run it in so hard at high tide that is was no possible to get it of when the damage was repaired.When it was lowtide the boat was almost dry. The cargo and torpedoes was unloaded and a warship destroy the uboat with their cannons. !

Have someone heard this story. If so. Whats the number and who was the commander
