Transport ship torpedoed

Dear all,
As mentioned in History Forum "...318 Shermans and 100 Priest SPG's arrived in Suez on September 11, 1942. Prior to that, on July 16th, a transport was lost with 52 Shermans on board when it was torpedoed...".
Please help to indentify the name of the transport ship and the submarine involve.
