Weather reporting U-boats

From December 1943 two or three U-boats were stationed in the North Atlantic purely for weather reporting purposes. The Atlantic was divided into three zones, north, central and south and a U-boat assigned to each area to produce regular weather reports. U1053 was one such vessel, operating near 54N 27W during November and December 1944, until relieved by U248 (operating near 50N18W (positions obviously very approximate). U248 was subsequently sunk near 47N27W on 16 Jan 1945. (Source: D Syrett - "Weather reporting U-boats in the Atlantic 1944-45")
I'm specifically seeking the numbers and approximate locations of the U-boats assigned for this task covering mid-May to mid-June 1944, and wonder if anyone could help?
