A few years ago I bought a set of Leitz U-boat binoculars. In the case was a note setting out their provenance and the fact that they had been taken from the captain of U-481 when the boat was surrendered in Norway in May 1945.
Research indicates that the captain of this boat at the time was Kapitänleutnant Klaus Andersen
I realise that these binoculars have a value and I feel that I should first of all offer them to the family of Captain Andersen.
Does anyone you have any suggestions about how I might find them? Better still, is Captain Andersen possibly still alive?
I would be grateful for any thoughts that you might have.
