U 123 & U 129

These two boats were unable to escape from Lorient in 1944, when the port finally surrendered in 1945, the two boats as I under stood had been scuttled on August 18th 1944. But on the web site HistoryArticle, the Author states that only U 129 had been scuttled and that U 123 was in fact laid up, athough damaged was, as known was later incorporated into the French navy. Is this a correct statement?
