This merchant ship, from convoy HX-1221, is recorded as being sunk, one of three ships hit by U96 on April 28th. In Peter Sharpe's book 'U-boat Fact file, Port Hardy is credited as being sunk by U65, also on the 28th. HMS Douglas, which had joined the convoy escort that day, having been diverted from convoy OB-314, also on the 28th detected and sank U65. Questions Did U65 make contact with HX-121? . Where, in relation to the convoy was Douglas when she encountered U65? And as U96 been positively identified as the boat that sank the Port Hardy? john
