I wondered if anyone might have information as to a U boat that was apparently sunk en route to Japan which had a cargo of mercury on board as well as a Japanese officer returning to Japan. I would like to know her No, when she was sunk (believe late in war?) who her captain was, who sank her, i.e. US-British, were there any survivors, sunk by ship, aircraft or mine, area-position if known?
Thank you.
I heard about this U boat whilst working in the Middle East also did see some reference to her in a W.W.2 book however can not recall where.
Thanks for any assistance or info.
Sincerely, Richard
