KM laufbahn letters?

I have seen a few KM items where the individuals laufbahn (career group) is signified by a single letter but i don't know specifically what career group these letters represent. Of particular interest is the letter 'E' and also the letter 'S'. Any help toward identifying these career groups would be greatly appreciated.
