Could someone confirm that the difference between School boats and Training boats. All boats under went a period of training befre being accepted as a Front boat, but there are quite a few boats as being listed at the wars end as School boats and/or Training boats. Did School boats have crews that trained on them, then went on to another U-boat, while Training boats [Non or ex Front boats], were simply crew training with the intention for the boat to become Front boat, but the war ended before that materialised?. An example U667 was a Front boat [June44 - July44], School boat [July44 - Feb45] then as a Training boat [Feb45 until her loss in Apr45], while still at Hamburg] (Source Wynn). John
