HMS Newfoundland torpedoing controversy

Hello.
Having visited your U-407 page, I wanted to ask if it could be possible to mention that there is a controversy, wheter the submarine responsible for actually damaging the cruiser was the U-407 or the Italian submarine Aschianghi, which was, soon after the torpedoing, sunk by the escort.
