U Boat training in Baltic

I am researching a dissertation on the RAF mine laying offensive in North West Europe during WW2. Whilst not many U-Boats were actually sunk by mines the RAF official history states that the mining of the training area in the Western Baltic severely disrupted training and the working up of new boats, particularly from the autumn of 1944.
Can anyone point me to any books (in English as sadly I do not speak German) on the history of U-Boat training in the Baltic? I would also be interested in any references in U-Boat memoirs that mention the operational effects of air dropped mines.
Any advice gratefully received.
