The general total regarding the fate of her crew on her loss is six were killed and 44 were taken prisoner. Here lies the problem of who rescued these men. Of the few sources of which names the ships that were involved, conflicting number arise. While most agree on the total of 44 rescued, however the ships names of who rescued them are absent. Of the sources I have that mention ships names differs from the total of 44 men. One states that in fact [46] were rescued by HMCS Annan, while another names HMCS Outremont [22], HMCS Loch Achanalt [20] and HMCS Annan with 2, again a total of 46. The sites with crew listings alas does not name all of the crew members on board the date of her demise. Is there a definite answer? John
