Can\'t we have a bit more camaraderie here!?

<HTML>Hi Kameraden!

It\'s obvious that some of us here have missed a big event on the forum several months before--\"Getting to know us all\", but I had the luck and honor to experience it and I should say that it was a very impressive event.

With MPC\'s character and quailties, he may not care to clarify the facts, but I have to point out that John, as well as those who disapprove this thread, please don\'t mistake MPC as someone who\'d like to brag about his personal history and make himself in the spotlight, rather this thread he started is a long-waited reply to our requests and all along we have pushed him to do so. So if this thread offends you, it\'s not MPC\'s fault, rather it\'s ours. I don\'t want to make any offence to anyone here, but what I do want to say is that \"before you make the investigation and get the whole story, you have no right to criticize\" (it was Mao Zedong\'s words).

Moreover, I can\'t see anything wrong with getting to know each other. It\'s right that this is a uboat forum and all the topics should be about the uboats. But what has made the Ubootwaffe so special is the unusually high camaraderie formed among the men due to the particular attributes of this weapon--they trust each other with their lives and they share a common destiny. It is just because Admiral Doenitz has seen the importance of camaraderie that he tried to know his commanders personally as well as possible.

Ever since I joined this forum, I have taken it as a kind of uboat and all the members here my Kameraden. Thus I do think that getting to know each other will greatly enhance camaraderie, which will only do good to the communication and exchange of ideas here. I have no objection to \"Get on with U-boats topics\", but why can\'t we learn the esprit de corps from the uboat men!? Why can\'t we be just a bit more friendly and tolerate to other people and have a bit more camaraderie here!? Now I seem to really understand why it\'s so easy for men to start a war. :)

Regarding the \"no girls are willing to join this forum\" part, it\'s another side effect of missing that big event. I happen to be a \"girl\", and if you could refer back to the thread (too bad it\'s impossible now), you\'ll well see that I\'m not the only one.

Best regards,
Ying
