Max Boettger

Max Boettger was supposedly a member of a U Boat crew. He is since deceased and was a past member of my present yacht club. Branford Yacht Club in Branford Conn. I am researching some history of the club and would like to verify if Max was indeed part of a U Boat crew. Is there a crew list that I could search? Thanks for any help.
