<HTML>Hello,
Thanks to Ted and Ranier for your help in identifying the torpedo run protractor. The second instrument I have is a disc 6 inches in diameter, which i assume was used on a U-boat because it says Torpedo-Ausweichscheibe on it,along with the eagle and Mar. Nr.485. It is made by Dennert & Pape of Hamburg. Near the top of the disc is a small window which displays #s from 0-360 and under this window is Shiffs = Richtung. Another window displays #s from 1-9 and over this window it says Vt = 50 sm/h,and under it Dez.
In the center of the disc is a black dial with the #s 5,15,20,25,30. Under the dial it says Eigenfahrt Ve sm/h. Beneath this dial is another window that displays #s 1-9. Over this window is Vt = 45.sm/h and under the window is Dez.
The disc also has on it
Stelle ein:
1. Eigenfahrt Ve
2. Schiffsrichtung
Lies ab:
Ausweichwinkel in Dez.
The other side is the same except the #s are slightly different.
Thanks again, only one piece left to go
Mike</HTML>
