<HTML>Hi Joe,
I recently aquired an incomplete Tauchretter, which according the story should come from the U-776, the boat that was in London for a while, and on which many civilians had a look. I will send some pictures as soon as I have it back, it's now on loan to a museum.
Regarding the codes with 3 digits, these are the manufacturers code, standing each for a specific factory. I once had a book explaining these codes, but I assume that if you will post a question on the equipment section of the Wehrmacht awards site, somebody will be able to answer it.
Kind regards,
Maurice</HTML>
