<HTML>Mr. Armstrong,
I just found that on ebay and it is in no way my personal opinion of Doenitz. I just wanted to share that picture as it is from the time of the War. It is a historical item, whether it be a Time magazine or not. That is why I posted it. That picture can be taken both ways. It can be taken as an offensive picture against Doenitz and Nazi Germany, or it can be taken as a painting depicting the trouble and fear of the Allies with regard to Doenitz\'s u-boat force.
I think John R. made a very good point. Propaganda goes both ways (on both sides). I think it is an excellent example of the situation of the time. In addition, I have a copy of the Time magazine depicting a bust of Admiral Helfrich who led the campaign against the Japanese in Dutch Indonesia. That painting could also go both ways as it is a very comical painting and Helfrich (in my opinion) was an incompetent admiral.
Best wishes to you both,
