Okay. I can tell you that the Bauscher-Weiden mark on the cup has been used from 1928 to the present. My source is Marks on German Bohemian and Austrian Porcelain 1710 to the present by Robert E Roentgen, Exton Penssylvania, Schiffer, 1981. The article on the firm-- Grbruder Bauscher, located in Weiden-- does not mention U-boat wares, although they are noted as having developed the concept of hotel china in the 19th century. I think the next step is to contact them, since they are still in business, and request an explanation. It would probably be best if one of the German-speaking members of the forum did this, although I'll do it in English if no one else is willing. :-)
