Regarding the Triglav. My Father was radio officer on this ship when she was sunk. As he told it, there were two lifeboats of survivors after the ship was sunk. One boat had a broken rudder and one was fully functional. He was on the lifeboat that was fully functional. The captain ordered him into the broken lifeboat along with the captain. At that time my father said his heart sunk. He figured he would never survive. They floated aimlessly for a week while the working lifeboat disappeared, never to be seen or heard from again. They were picked up by, I believe, a Portugese ship a week later and then landed on Gibraltar where he said he longed for a hot bath! As soon as he was assigned a room, he found no hot water. A quick call to the front desk and soon a gentleman arrived with one 12 inch ruler. He gave him 12 inches of hot water in his bathtub. He used to laugh about that when he told that story.
