How about Henke?

<HTML>Werner Henke is, I feel, one of the overlooked commanders of WW2. And I think Timothy Mulligan makes a good point about Henke in his book \"Lone Wolf\"

One of the most important facts is that Henke scored 100% of his sinkings after September of 1942, when the Allies were finally getting their ASW act together. He is the only commander to do so. Of that tonnage, over 79,000grt came during or after the crucial May \'43 period.

Henke unlike some commanders, Kretschmer and Topp for example, never got to operate against convoys, where ships were plentiful. THIS IS IN NO WAY A SLAM AGAINST TOPP & KRETSCHMER! They were some of the best without argument.

Henke\'s 142,636 credited tons put him 14th on the list of Top Commanders.

Anyway, I\'ll throw his hat into the ring for my favorite commander.
