<HTML>A. Brandi where mainly attacking submerged during day-time, then you can only make an estimation on how many ships where sunk. Very difficult sometimes. First after the war, it was possible with the help of allied records, to confirm which ships where sunk or not.
Based on post-war information, it is obvious that Brandi overestimated his hits, but most likely not on purpose. That is one reason why he got a higer decoration than he probably deserved.</HTML>
