The painting by R.Taylor may be a little incorrect, but U 461 was
a XIV Type U-boat. They were call MILKCOWS or in Rainer\'s
language they called them \"The Milch Kuh\". This U-boat (U 461)
supported 75 U-boats during her patrols from June 1942. She was
attacked and sank on the 30th July 1943 by a Sunderland flying boat
of 461 Sqn (RAAF) piloted by F/Lt D Marrows.
Of U461\'s crew, 54 men died and only 15, including her commander
were made PoW.
