<HTML>Dear Walt:

Microfilm copies of the KTBs from many U-boats are available from the United States\' National Archives. I have looked at a borrowed copy of Hardegen\'s KTB for the U-123\'s second patrol to the United States, so I know for sure that is available. I have purchased a copy of the raider MICHEL\'s KTB (literally hundreds of pages) covering the period October 8, 1942 to its arrival at Japan in April, 1943.
Extremely interesting, including photos, navigational plots of attacks, Flying Officer\'s search patterns, torpedo boat\'s plots, interrogation of captured merchant crews, etc.

Write to TEXTUAL REFERENCE BRANCH, NATIONAL ARCHIVES, 8601 ADELPHI ROAD, COLLEGE PARK MD 20740-6001 for info as to availability, prices, ordering instructions, etc. I suggest enclosing a s.s.s.a. envelope to facilitate their reply.

Cordially.

GWD. </HTML>
