I'm part of a group that is planning a search for U-656, which is widely reported to be the first U-boat sunk by U.S. forces in WWII. I am interested in locating photographs of U-656 and crew members. I would also be happy to hear stories from family members or descendents of the crew.
Our group is simply interested in the history of the site and will not remove any artifacts if we locate U-656. We understand that this is a grave site and will treat it with the respect it deserves.
