Hi Mark, yes it was not a success, no dates of when it was attempted,but likely before 'Thetis' and 'Aphrodite'was used, or by which U-boats were used, but apparently,it was used to prevent high frequeny detection, a wire net of 120 ohms resistance, was set a quarter of a wavelength from the U-boats hull.
