As far as I know, they never carried any dog tags or equal things.
As a emergency troop (used after October 1944 to defending the Reich) they were not fitted with official papers . The only thing to identify them, was a ribbon \"Volkssturm\" on the left sleeve. Too many peoples were in the Volkssturm and there was no more time for bureaucracy, no time to print official papers for every man from age 16 to 60 who was able to carry a weapon.
