According to the 'Historische' site, on 12.08.1941 U124 was at (CG45), when a crewman sustained a serious hand injury, one that required surgery. Are the details of this incident known?. As far as I can work out she only met a couple of Italian boats on August 13th, U371 14th, U123 15th and U126 16th before returning to Lorient, there is no mention of the man being treated or transferred.
