Re. U206
According a report from MoD, Foreign Document Section, the area just off the port of St.Nazaire (from about 47°05'N to 47°17'N and from the coast to approx. 02°40'W) had been mined by the RAF over a period of 16 months, commencing August 1940. After carrying out the initial lay Bomber Command went on to monthly replenish the 'garden' code-named "Beech", with the exception of June 1941, until July 1941. A total of 90 mines were dropped.
Coastal Command, from May 1941 to November 1941 (with the exception of June) added a further 24 mines to the field.

No details of Squadrons or aircraft types known to me. I assume a visit and search at TNA might provide you that information.

Best regards,
Walter
