Dear John,
On the 8th, U509 received a radio message from BdU to go immediately to DJ19, if her fuel situation allowed her to do so AND if torpedos had been transferred.
The torpedo transfer - not from/to another boat but from U509's deck torpedo storage containers to the inside of the boat - had already been performed Nov.7 between 0530 and 1100.
No other boat involved in that transfer.
