This story (?) has been around for a long time (ending with the attack on the three ships in March, 1943 made into a movie "the Sea Wolves")

I have, however, until found nobody being able to provide proof rpt proof of the German ships sending messages to submarines (like, e.g. DEFE decoded messages)

Can you provide one ?
