U-Boat lost off NE Cuba

<HTML>My Friends wife grew up in Cuba and told me of a U-Boat that was sunk by a Cuba patrol boat. The boat was lost of the North East coast of Cuba. Apparently some of the crew was able to escape and was aided by the her people. Does any one know of the U-Boat number and location of the surviving crew. Thanks for any help</HTML>
