<HTML>I wonder if anyone can help me find some information and clear up an old rumour ?
There is an old story that a U-Boat ran aground on the east Anglian coast, more precisely Suffolk coast, sometime during the period of late August or early September 1940. All the crew were apparently captured or killed. I have also heard variants of this story that mention either an E-Boat or some other smaller surface craft.
This story is connected with the legend of the \'burnt bodies of Germans\' being washed up on the shore.
Is there any basis to this story of the run-aground submarine ?
Thanks, Ron C.</HTML>
