<HTML>Hi All,
Just remembered Daily Mail report of 26.7.01
HMS Cavalier Britains last wartime destroyer has been restored with a £1.5 million grant from the National Heratige Memorial Fund and, after an 18-month restoration in Chatham Dockyard (God I thought the government shut that to save money - they shut nearly everything else of historical interest). Anyway she has been restored to her original splendor and will be open to the public soon.
Cavalier is \"in topic\" as \"she servedwith distinction in Arctic convoys, surviving attacks from U-boat\" (there - got the word in the posting).
Regards
MPC
PS Is there, perhaps, some hope for U 534 ? If not from the UK National Heritage Memorial Fund perhaps from somewhere to at least keep her \"as is\"
